Most Frequently Asked Questions About North Nashville Hoops Open League

How do I register a team for North Nashville Hoops?
-
Head Coaches or Team Managers must register their team first on our site.  Once the team has been registered a team code will be provided to the Head Coach or Team Manager. 
(Teams do not have to pay at the time of registration to receive a team code.)

How do I pay for the league? And What does it include?        
-All fees will be paid online during the registration process by the Head Coach or Team Manager.  The team fee includes all games, post season tournaments, and insurance.  (NNH provides scorekeepers, clock operators, gym supervisors, and officials for all games.

Does team insurance for facilities come with the team fee?
-Once your team has registered the league insurance covers your team at our designated facilities.  See Facilities.  To have a facility added to the list please contact us. (Certificates will be posted on Oct. 1st)

When does the winter league start?
-Games will be played on Saturdays beginning on Dec. 2nd and will end on Feb. 17th.

Where are the games played?

-Games are played at local schools and churches around the Goodlettsville, Madison, Hendersonville, Gallatin, Cross Plains and White House Areas.

Are jerseys included in the team fee?  Can I have a sponsor to help pay league cost?
-No.  All teams are required to provide their own uniforms and must provide two distinct dark and light color options.  Teams are allowed to have sponsors and those sponsors can be displayed on uniforms.  The NNH recommends basketball numbers only.

Do parents have to keep score or work the score clock?
-No.  The NNH provides Scorekeepers, Bookkeepers, PA Announcers, TSSAA / TMSSAA certified officials for all games.

How many players can I roster to reduce league cost?
-
There are no restrictions to the number of players that are required to play in the NNH.  Teams must have at least (5) players rostered.  Teams are only allowed to use players that are on their team's roster.  Rosters must be final by Dec. 17th.

Do you take schedule request?
-Yes.  We do our best to work on scheduling request with Head Coaches Only, however with gym times and other factors may not allow us to accommodate a request.

Are their separate divisions for the better teams versus the average teams?
-Yes.  Once a division reaches (11) or more teams the schedule will be divided in a "Gold" and "Silver Division to obtain the most beneficial schedule for all teams.  Obviously, the first (3) weeks of the season are used to determine the rest of the season schedule. Customized schedules to fit competitive style of each team.  Divisions with under (10) teams will not have customized schedules based on competition.

Does the NNH provide practice facilities?
-No. Unfortunately, we do not provide practice times for teams.  However, frequently used gyms can be found on our gym locations page and all insurance certificates for those gyms are provided with the team fee.

How is the NNH dealing with the effects of Covid-19?

-The NNH will be abiding by local mandates within the counties the games are played along with the standards set before us by the TSSAA.  The NNH will also follow the hosting schools and county school board's recommendations on game days.

What are the different divisions of the NNH?
-
2nd/3rd Grade Boys (9FT), 4th- 6th Grade Boys (10FT)

How many games are included in the season?  
-Teams will play a minimum of (8) regular season games.  Teams will also be included in the post season tournament. Teams will play between (9-12) games depending on the size of their divisions.

What happens if the games are canceled due to weather or a Covid-19 outbreak?
-NNH Weather Policy:  The NNH will reschedule up to (1) week of canceled games.  After there have been more than one week of canceled games the NNH will not guarantee a game being rescheduled.  The NNH will do everything in its power to reschedule games, but gym time can prohibit the rescheduling of games.
-NNH Covid-19 Policy: The NNH will not issue refunds if games or season is canceled due to Covid-19. In case of Covid spikes games will be suspended and rescheduled up until 3/1/2024. If games are not complete by 3/1/2024 the games will not be rescheduled.  

Are players allowed to play in multiple divisions?

-Players are allowed to play on multiple teams in different divisions.  No player will be allowed to play down a grade level without the permission of the NNH.  All players playing on multiple teams must play in their division and the divisions above.  The schedule will not be made to accommodate players participation on multiple teams. (NO EXCEPTIONS)

Schedule conflict requests must be submitted by the Head Coach Only. All requests must be emailed to [email protected] by 11/19.
